Argus Transport Canada (“Argus”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you use our website or contact us through the website or our Facebook Messenger chat.

- our website’s Facebook Messenger chat feature.
This policy does not cover personal information collected through other channels or systems (for example, separate customer portals or operational systems) unless those are explicitly linked to this policy.

- Message content and any information you include in your request
- Newsletter subscription email (if you subscribe)
B) Facebook Messenger chat information
- Your public profile information associated with Messenger (as provided through Meta’s systems, subject to your settings)
- The content of messages you send to us and related metadata (for example, timestamps)
C) Website technical information (automatically collected)
- IP address, browser/device type, pages viewed, and approximate location derived from IP
- Cookies and similar technologies used for basic site functionality, security, and performance
4) Why we collect and use personal information
We use personal information to:

We do not sell personal information.

7) Facebook Messenger chat (Meta) — important note
If you use the Facebook Messenger chat feature on our website, your communications are processed through Meta Platforms’ systems. Meta may collect and process information under its own policies and terms, which are outside Argus’ control. We use the message content to communicate with you and respond to your request.
If you prefer not to use Messenger, you can contact us by phone or email instead.
8) Retention (how long we keep information)
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to:
- respond to and manage your inquiry,
- maintain reasonable business records, and
- meet legal, regulatory, and security obligations.
When no longer needed, we delete, anonymize, or securely destroy the information.
9) Security safeguards
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we aim to use safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.
If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will take steps required by applicable law, which may include notifying affected individuals and regulators.

Some service providers (including Meta Platforms for Messenger) may process or store information outside Quebec and Canada. When information is processed outside your jurisdiction, it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.

- request correction of inaccurate information
- request deletion (subject to legal/recordkeeping requirements)
- withdraw consent where applicable (subject to legal or contractual restrictions)

Response time: We aim to respond promptly and within legally required timelines.
12) Data deletion requests (website + Messenger inquiries)
If you want Argus to delete personal information linked to a website inquiry or Messenger chat, email info@argustransport.com with:
- your name and contact information,
- the channel used (website form or Messenger), and
- what you want deleted (and approximate dates, if possible).
We will confirm receipt and complete the request subject to legal retention requirements.
13) Children’s privacy
Our website and services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the website or Messenger chat.
14) Updates to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top indicates when it was last updated.
